Hiring a Painter 5 Step Check List
1.Define your project
Know what needs painting: walls, trim, ceiling etc.
Decide on color, finishes and whether you need any repairs or prep-work.
2. Get Estimates
Contact 2-3 painters for quotes.
Make sure each estimate includes: labor, materials, number of coats, prep and clean up.
3. Check Credentials and Reviews
Verify license and insurance (if required by your state)
Read reviews and ask for a couple of references or photos of past work.
4.Ask Key Questions
What type/brand of paint do they use?
How long will the job take?
Do they offer any warranty on their work?
5.Review and Sign the Contract
Make sure it includes: cost, timeline, materials and payment schedule.
Clarify any expectations before they start.
