DIY: Sanding and Staining
“Does anyone want these tables?” (my husband’s friend posted on insatgram) Yes, I want them!
I’ve always wanted to sand and stain furniture. I saw this as the perfect opportunity. We picked up the tables and off we went to our local Lowe’s.

Okay, real talk. People on Instagram make it look so easy. It was so much work! (lol) Stripping the paint/coating was stinky but scraping the gunk off was satisfying . Sanding, I struggled with. Mostly because I wasn’t sanding evenly and I didn’t take the legs off of the tables. I know total amateur move. I decided to carve our initials on the table before staining. It’s such a cute detail, I love it. Staining the table was easy, but I got a little carried away. I put too many coats of stain on, so it took forever to dry. Honestly, I plan on sanding and staining one of the tables again because it’s very obvious I over stained.
If your planning on taking on this type of project I would definitely recommend doing some real research like a youtube tutorial not an instagram reel. Best of luck on you DIY project!
